Mabati Rolling Mills (MRM), the flagship company of the SAFAL Group and Kenya’s leading steel building solutions manufacturer, is hiring across 5 positions at its Mariakani facility near Mombasa.

The company manufactures world-class roofing products and coated steel solutions distributed across Kenya and beyond through its extensive service center network.
1. Weighbridge Operator (2 Positions)
The Weighbridge Operator is responsible for accurately recording the weight of incoming and outgoing vehicles and materials at the plant, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with weighbridge procedures.
Key Duties
- Operate and manage the weighbridge system to weigh trucks entering and leaving the plant
- Record and verify weight data accurately in the system
- Issue weigh tickets and maintain proper documentation of all transactions
- Ensure compliance with company procedures and safety standards at the weighbridge
- Coordinate with logistics and dispatch teams to ensure smooth vehicle flow
- Report any discrepancies, irregularities, or equipment malfunctions to supervisors
Qualifications
- Diploma or Certificate in Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field
- Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in a weighbridge, logistics, or stores environment
- Basic computer literacy and data entry skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication and organizational skills
2. Electrical Technician (1 Position)
The Electrical Technician is responsible for maintaining, installing, and repairing electrical systems and equipment at the Mariakani plant to ensure minimal downtime and a safe working environment.
Key Duties
- Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, and fixtures
- Carry out Autonomous Maintenance (AM) and Planned Maintenance (PM) to minimize downtime
- Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and need for repair
- Diagnose malfunctioning systems and components using test equipment and hand tools
- Ensure timely attendance to all electrical breakdowns
- Maintain safe working environment in relation to electrical installations and housekeeping standards
Qualifications
- Diploma or Certificate in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field
- Government Trade Test (GTT) certification in Electrical is an added advantage
- Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in electrical maintenance in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- High integrity and professional ethics
- Ability to make sound decisions on the role in a prudent manner
3. Loading Supervisor (1 Position)
The Loading Supervisor oversees the loading of finished goods onto trucks and containers at the plant, ensuring accuracy, safety, and efficiency in all dispatch operations.
Key Duties
- Supervise and coordinate loading of finished products onto trucks and containers
- Ensure correct quantities and specifications are loaded as per dispatch orders
- Inspect transport vessels (trucks and containers) to confirm their condition prior to loading
- Maintain accurate loading records and documentation
- Enforce safety standards and housekeeping during all loading activities
- Liaise with logistics, stores, and production teams to ensure timely dispatch
- Monitor and manage the performance of loading crew
Qualifications
- Diploma or Certificate in Logistics, Supply Chain, or a related field
- Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in a loading, stores, or logistics supervisory role in a manufacturing environment
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Good knowledge of safety standards and handling of steel or heavy goods
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
4. HRC Receiving Clerk (1 Position)
The HRC (Hot Rolled Coil) Receiving Clerk is responsible for receiving, inspecting, and documenting incoming raw materials — primarily hot rolled steel coils — at the Mariakani plant to ensure accurate inventory records and compliance with quality standards.
Key Duties
- Receive and inspect incoming HRC (Hot Rolled Coil) materials against delivery notes and purchase orders
- Verify quantities, dimensions, and quality of incoming raw materials
- Update inventory records and ERP system with accurate receiving data
- Coordinate with the stores and production teams to ensure timely material availability
- Identify and flag non-conforming materials and escalate to the quality team
- Maintain proper filing of all receiving documentation
Qualifications
- Diploma or Certificate in Stores Management, Supply Chain, or a related field
- Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in a stores, receiving, or inventory clerk role — preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with ERP or inventory management systems
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping
- Good communication and coordination skills
