About This Role
You’ll facilitate communication between local Kenyan teams and Chinese stakeholders — in meetings, site visits, document translation, and day-to-day business correspondence. The role demands accuracy, cultural sensitivity, and professional discretion in both written and verbal interactions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide real-time interpretation during meetings, site visits, and stakeholder engagements
- Translate documents, emails, and reports between English/Swahili and Mandarin Chinese
- Support cross-functional teams in communication with Chinese partners and clients
- Ensure translations maintain accuracy, context, and cultural relevance
- Assist in coordinating projects involving Chinese stakeholders
Requirements
- Fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English — mandatory
- Proven experience in translation and interpretation in a corporate or operational setting
- Strong understanding of business and professional communication
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with Chinese companies or projects in Kenya
- Background in business, operations, or technical translation
- Certification in translation or linguistics is an added advantage
Salary and Benefits
- Gross pay: KES 120,000–130,000 per month
