Greenspoon, Kenya’s fastest-growing online supermarket, is hiring a Content Creator to own all visual and short-form content across social media platforms. This is a rare opportunity to build a content engine from scratch at a certified B Corp that’s grown 15x in revenue over the past three years.
The role is based on-site in Nairobi and reports directly to the Marketing team. You’ll be responsible for producing 3-5 short-form videos per week, managing creator partnerships, and turning everyday Greenspoon moments into scroll-stopping content that drives orders.
About This Role
As Greenspoon’s Content Creator, you won’t sit at a desk waiting for briefs. You’ll be in the warehouse filming fresh produce arrivals, riding along on 45-minute deliveries, visiting suppliers’ farms, and capturing the real stories that make Greenspoon different from every other grocery delivery service in Kenya.
Your content will live on Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, WhatsApp, and in-app banners. You’ll own the entire production cycle: concept, shoot, edit, publish, track performance, and iterate based on what’s working.
This isn’t a traditional marketing role. Greenspoon wants someone who knows which TikTok audio is trending this week, can turn around a reactive Reel in 24 hours when a trend goes live, and understands that great content exists to drive orders, not just rack up vanity metrics.
Key Responsibilities
Short-Form Video Production
You’ll plan, shoot, and edit 3-5 pieces of short-form video content every week for Instagram Reels, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts. Every video needs a strong hook in the first 2 seconds, platform-native pacing, and retention beats that keep viewers watching. You’ll capture footage across Greenspoon’s warehouse, delivery fleet, supplier farms, kitchen operations, and customer stories.
When a trend is live and fits the brand, you’ll need to turn around reactive content within 24-48 hours. Speed and trend fluency matter as much as production quality in this role.
Graphic and Static Content Creation
Beyond video, you’ll produce high-quality static graphics in Canva for Instagram posts, WhatsApp broadcasts, email campaigns, and in-app promotional banners. All creatives must align with Greenspoon’s brand guidelines and visual identity. You’ll also build reusable templates that the wider marketing team can use without breaking brand consistency.
Trend Spotting and Strategy
You’re expected to stay ahead of platform trends, viral audio, emerging formats, and creator behaviour on TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube. Every week, you’ll bring a trend board to the Marketing team with specific, actionable ideas for how Greenspoon can participate. You’ll also need a clear point of view on which trends fit the brand and which don’t.
Campaign and Launch Content
When Greenspoon launches new product categories, runs seasonal promotions, or pushes commercial campaigns, you’ll deliver the visual content on deadline. You’ll work closely with the Commercial and Growth teams to brief, shoot, and ship campaign assets. Where it strengthens the story, you’ll create talent-led or founder-led content.
Creator and Influencer Management
You’ll source, brief, and manage relationships with Kenyan content creators and micro-influencers. This includes coordinating shoots, negotiating content rights and usage terms, and building a steady pipeline of user-generated content and customer testimonials that feel authentic, not staged.
Publishing and Performance Tracking
You’ll publish content to Greenspoon’s social and paid media channels on a consistent weekly schedule. After publishing, you’ll track performance metrics including views, watch time, saves, shares, click-through rates, and conversion. You’ll feed those learnings into the next week’s content plan, kill what isn’t working, and double down on what is.
Production and Asset Management
You’ll own Greenspoon’s entire content library. Every raw file, edited video, and published asset needs to be organised, tagged, and easy to find so the team can reuse and recycle content efficiently. You’ll manage shoot logistics, basic lighting, sound, and phone or camera setups. All footage and edits must be backed up and version-controlled.
Required Qualifications
Greenspoon is looking for candidates with proven experience creating short-form video content for a brand, agency, or personal channel with demonstrable reach or audience growth. You must submit a portfolio or showreel of published work on TikTok, Instagram Reels, or YouTube Shorts that you can walk through in detail during the interview process.
Technical Skills:
You must be fluent in CapCut (both mobile and desktop versions) and Canva. Experience with Adobe Premiere, Photoshop, or Figma is a plus but not required. You should be confident shooting on a smartphone and comfortable working with basic mirrorless or DSLR camera setups when needed. Experience experimenting with AI-powered video creation tools is also expected.
Language and Cultural Fluency:
Strong written English and Swahili are required. You need a natural sense for how Kenyan audiences speak, scroll, and engage with content. Generic international content strategies won’t work here — you need to understand what resonates locally.
Preferred Experience:
While not mandatory, Greenspoon gives preference to candidates with experience working with creators, influencers, or user-generated content programmes. Experience in retail, e-commerce, FMCG, or the food and beverage sector is also a strong advantage.
What Greenspoon Offers
Creative Ownership:
You’ll have genuine creative control from day one. This isn’t a role where you’ll execute someone else’s playbook. You’re building the content engine from the ground up.
Rich Storytelling Opportunities:
You’ll have access to real, compelling stories every single day: smallholder farmers supplying organic produce, delivery riders navigating Nairobi traffic to hit the 45-minute promise, customers cooking with fresh ingredients, and a warehouse full of activity. The content writes itself if you know where to look.
Values-Driven Company:
Greenspoon is a certified B Corp that combines commercial ambition with a genuine commitment to sustainability and social impact. You’ll work with a team that genuinely cares about the mission, not just the metrics.
Professional Development:
Greenspoon provides a budget for gear and tools, plus direct exposure to the executive team. You’ll grow your skills in a fast-paced, high-growth environment where pace and shipping matter more than endless decks and meetings.
