About This Role
The Stores Supervisor West Kenya Sugar Company Kakamega 2026 position sits at the centre of the company’s materials management function. You will be responsible for overseeing all store operations — from receiving and verifying incoming supplies, to coordinating with user departments, managing stock records, and ensuring the stores environment meets health and safety standards at all times.
This role suits a detail-oriented professional who understands industrial stores management, is comfortable working with SAP systems, and can supervise a team in a high-volume manufacturing environment. You will prepare store performance reports, conduct periodic stock takes, and maintain clean, compliant stores — all while keeping material movement records accurate and traceable.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and verify all materials procured from suppliers against purchase orders and delivery documentation
- Coordinate with user departments on loading and offloading operations to ensure smooth materials flow
- Maintain safe custody of all materials held in the store at all times
- Create and supervise Goods Received Notes (GRNs), rejection issues, transfer postings, and returnable material transactions
- Monitor material movement and conduct spot checks to confirm conformity with issue vouchers
- Conduct periodic stock takes and reconcile physical counts against system records
- Enforce good housekeeping practices throughout the stores area
- Ensure full compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Act 2007 (OSHA) regulations at the workplace
Required Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics, or a related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience at supervisory level in a stores, warehouse, or materials management role
- Familiarity with SAP ERP system for inventory and stores transactions
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Working knowledge of the Occupational Safety and Health Act 2007 (OSHA Kenya)
Desirable:
- Experience in a manufacturing, agro-processing, or sugar industry environment
- Member of KISM (Kenya Institute of Supplies Management) or working towards professional certification
- Experience managing returnable materials and rejection processes
