Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA) is hiring a Fleet Artisan to join its Logistics team in Nairobi on a permanent basis. If you hold a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (Automotive) and have at least 3 years of hands-on experience in a fleet maintenance workshop, this is a strong opportunity with one of Africa’s largest employers. The application deadline is 21st April 2026.
About This Role
As Fleet Artisan at Coca-Cola Beverages Africa Nairobi, you will report directly to the Fleet Team Leader and take responsibility for the mechanical and electrical health of CCBA’s commercial vehicle fleet. This means diagnosing and repairing faults across a range of heavy commercial vehicles — including Mitsubishi, Isuzu, Scania, and Mercedes Actros trucks and trailers — using advanced diagnostic equipment and software.
This is not a routine servicing role. You will handle complex electrical, electronic, and mechanical faults that require strong diagnostic reasoning and technical mastery. The ability to read a vehicle’s behaviour, run accurate tests, and solve problems that others cannot is central to what this role demands.
You will also interact with internal clients — discussing vehicle issues, explaining solutions, and providing clear feedback. Strong technical skill combined with good communication makes the difference in this position.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, troubleshoot, and repair complex electrical, electronic, and mechanical faults on commercial vehicles using advanced diagnostic tools and software.
- Operate advanced diagnostic equipment, scanners, and electrical testing tools accurately and safely.
- Diagnose and service vehicles across multiple makes including Mitsubishi, Isuzu, Scania, Mercedes Actros, and trailers.
- Test drive vehicles after repairs to confirm fault resolution and identify any remaining issues.
- Analyse and solve complex vehicle problems using structured critical thinking and systematic fault-finding processes.
- Discuss vehicle faults, repair plans, and outcomes with internal clients and provide clear, professional feedback.
- Maintain accurate records of diagnostics, repairs carried out, and parts used in line with workshop procedures.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (Automotive) — minimum requirement.
- At least 3 years of experience working in a fleet maintenance workshop environment.
- Proven ability to diagnose and repair complex electrical and mechanical vehicle faults.
- Hands-on experience with heavy commercial vehicles — Mitsubishi, Isuzu, Scania, Mercedes Actros, or trailers.
- Proficiency with advanced diagnostic equipment, vehicle scanners, and electrical testing tools.
Desirable:
- Specific experience with Mercedes Actros and Scania trucks is a strong added advantage.
- Higher National Diploma (HND) or degree in Automotive Engineering will strengthen your application.
Skills and Competencies
- Advanced automotive diagnostics — ability to use OBD scanners and specialist software to trace and resolve complex faults.
- Electrical and electronic systems knowledge — strong working understanding of commercial vehicle wiring, sensors, and control systems.
- Critical thinking and fault-finding — methodical approach to diagnosing problems that are not immediately obvious.
- Heavy commercial vehicle experience — practical familiarity with the specific demands of truck and trailer maintenance.
- Client communication — ability to explain technical issues clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Workshop discipline — safe working practices, accurate records, and adherence to CCBA maintenance standards.
