Lightup Impact Kenya is hiring a Program Coordinator and M&E Officer based in Eldoret or working remotely. This is a part-time consultancy role — 3 days per week for 6 months (renewable) — starting 4th May 2026. If you have 1–2 years of experience in program coordination or project management within the NGO or community development space, apply before 28th April 2026.
About This Role
As Program Coordinator and M&E Officer at Lightup Impact Kenya, you will manage and coordinate two core programs: capacity-strengthening trainings (online and in-person) and networking events for the organisation’s community of grassroots founders across East Africa. You will also own data collection and analysis functions using existing M&E frameworks.
This is a hands-on coordination role. You will handle logistics, schedule meetings, communicate with participants and partners, manage Zoom sessions, and work directly with the Program Manager to keep the project workplan on track. The M&E side means you are not just coordinating — you are tracking what works, measuring outcomes, and feeding performance data into reports that go to donors and leadership.
This role suits someone who is organised under pressure, comfortable managing multiple tasks at once, and genuinely interested in grassroots development and youth-led organisations. Remote working is possible, but you must be available to travel within Kenya for in-person training activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate all logistics and administrative tasks for program implementation, including scheduling, participant communications, and Zoom meeting management.
- Work closely with the Program Manager to ensure the project workplan is implemented on time and within scope.
- Engage and maintain positive relationships with program participants, partners, donors, trainers, and other stakeholders through consistent communication and feedback.
- Collect, analyse, and report program data and performance indicators against the organisation’s M&E frameworks.
- Monitor program activities and progress against targets, flagging delays or risks to the Program Manager early.
- Provide content and performance data to the communications team for quarterly and annual reports.
- Support the planning and execution of both public and member-only networking events.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma/certification in International Development, Social Sciences, Community Development, Monitoring & Evaluation, Program Management, or a related field.
- At least 1–2 years of proven experience in program coordination, project management, or a related role — preferably in the nonprofit or community development sector.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; ability to engage diverse stakeholders professionally.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Suite.
- Availability to travel within Kenya for in-person program activities.
Desirable:
- Experience working with remote teams.
- Familiarity with digital project management tools such as Asana.
- Experience using Zoom for coordinating virtual training or meeting sessions.
- Prior experience in M&E data collection and reporting within an NGO context.
Skills and Competencies
- Program logistics and coordination — keeping complex, multi-stakeholder programs running without things falling through the cracks.
- M&E data collection and analysis — ability to work with pre-existing frameworks and produce meaningful reports from program data.
- Stakeholder communication — clear, professional engagement with partners, donors, participants, and internal teams.
- Digital tools proficiency — comfortable with Google Suite, MS Office, Asana, and Zoom in a remote-first environment.
- Attention to detail — accurate documentation, scheduling, and reporting matter in this role.
- Commitment to equity and inclusion — Lightup Impact works with diverse grassroots communities and expects its team to reflect those values.

About Lightup Impact Kenya
Lightup Impact is a youth-led grassroots movement supporting 70+ early-stage organisations working in gender and health across East Africa. Headquartered at Saito Center in Eldoret, the organisation takes a bottom-up approach to development — co-creating and co-implementing solutions alongside its community of young grassroots founders rather than imposing top-down programs.
Lightup Impact focuses on capacity strengthening, networking, and skills development for grassroots leaders. Its programs are designed to help small, community-rooted organisations grow their impact and become financially sustainable over time. The team operates across Kenya and the broader East Africa region in a collaborative, international work environment.
