E-commerce and retail recruitment specialist with experience placing business development professionals across Kenya’s digital commerce sector | Last updated: April 2026
Kilimall Kenya needs a Business Developer right now — and they mean it. Availability is listed as immediate, the deadline is 25 April 2026, and the role is based in Nairobi. If you’ve been working in the maternity, baby, or toy product space — whether in e-commerce, retail, or FMCG distribution — this is a direct-fit opportunity.
This Business Developer Kilimall Kenya 2026 vacancy was sourced from Kilimall’s official recruitment communications.
About This Role
Kilimall is recruiting a Business Developer to own and grow their maternity, baby, and toy product categories on the platform. This isn’t a generic sales role — it’s a category management and seller growth position. You’ll be responsible for recruiting the right sellers, keeping them active and performing, and identifying where the category can expand based on real market data.
The position is Nairobi-based and requires someone who can hit the ground running. Immediate availability is a hard requirement.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage strategic partnerships with maternity, baby, and toy brands in the Kenyan market
- Identify, onboard, and nurture high-potential sellers to grow the category
- Design and execute growth strategies to improve seller performance and drive sales
- Provide continuous training, guidance, and operational support to sellers
- Manage the full seller lifecycle — from acquisition and onboarding through to growth and retention
- Analyse market trends and customer needs to identify opportunities for category expansion
The seller lifecycle management piece is significant. You’re not just signing up new vendors and walking away — you’re accountable for their ongoing performance on the platform.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from a reputable university
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in the maternity and baby industry, e-commerce, or retail
- Strong understanding of the Kenyan market and consumer behaviour
- Experience in business development or operations is an added advantage
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills
The maternity and baby category focus is specific. If your background is in FMCG, modern trade, or marketplace operations — and you’ve dealt with baby care, infant products, or toys — you’re exactly who they’re looking for. Generic business development experience alone won’t be enough to stand out.
What They Offer
Kilimall hasn’t published a salary range for this position. Business Developer roles at e-commerce platforms in Nairobi at this experience level typically range from KES 70,000–130,000/month depending on the candidate’s track record and negotiation. Use LinkedIn Salary or Glassdoor Kenya to benchmark before your interview.
Given the immediate availability requirement, it’s likely a permanent full-time position with standard Kenyan statutory benefits.
