About This Role
You’ll ensure vehicle quality throughout the assembly process — conducting inline and end-of-line inspections, managing documentation, running functional tests, and implementing corrective actions. Reports to the Quality Engineer.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Control
- Conduct inspections at various stages of vehicle assembly against OEM specifications
- Approve or reject components and assembled units based on quality criteria
- Conduct daily product audits on all vehicles
- Oversee functional and dynamic tests — wheel alignment, brake tests, and road tests
Documentation Management
- Print and issue vehicle documentation to the assembly line
- Ensure technicians accurately complete all check sheets
- File and store all checklists and vehicle records in the KVM archives
Data Collection and Reporting
- Collect and analyse inspection data to identify defect trends and root causes
- Prepare and submit daily defect reports and weighted DPV results
- Share daily WIP reports with throughput of ready units
Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities for Kaizen and process improvements
- Develop and refine inspection check sheets
- Conduct root cause analysis on severe and repetitive defects
- Initiate internal containment campaigns when critical defects are identified
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering — Automotive, Production, or Manufacturing preferred
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in Quality Control in a vehicle assembly environment
- Certification in quality control is a strong advantage
- Proven experience in vehicle inspections in a busy automobile manufacturing plant
- Must be an experienced driver with good road-test skills
