About This Role
This payables accountant job in Nairobi sits within a busy trading and distribution environment. You’ll manage the full accounts payable cycle — supplier invoices, reconciliations, statutory payments, VAT filing, and bank reconciliations — for a mid-sized company with active supplier and vendor relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Process supplier invoices and manage payments
- Perform supplier payment reconciliations
- Handle timely and accurate monthly VAT filing
- Process non-stock GRVs
- Conduct bank reconciliations
- Ensure timely monthly statutory payments
- Manage petty cash administration
- Maintain staff advances ledger
- Maintain accounts payable ledger
- Update cash book daily
- Perform other related duties as required
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a business-related field
- CPA Part II minimum — CPA-K holders preferred
Experience
- Minimum 4 years’ experience in a busy trading, manufacturing, or distribution company
- Experience in retail, wholesale, or distributive environments is desired
Salary and Benefits
- KES 65,000 – 70,000 per month plus company benefits
