Position Summary
- We are seeking Data Entry Officers to support data management and evaluation efforts for the AMANI Study in selected counties. The officers will be responsible for timely, accurate, and high-quality data entry into electronic data capture (EDC) systems.

Key Responsibilities
- Abstract data from routine health records such as:
- Birth registers Mortality registers MPDSR committee meeting forms Surveys with facility administrators and healthcare workers
- Qualitative records and logs maintained by Practice Facilitators
- Accurately enter data into EDC platforms (e.g., REDCap, ODK) within defined timelines.
- Perform double data entry and validation checks to ensure consistency and minimize errors.
- Identify, flag, and escalate data inconsistencies or missing information to the Senior Data Analyst.
- Ensure secure storage, backup, and maintenance of data management documents in line with study SOPs.
- Maintain detailed logs of data entry activities, queries raised, and resolutions provided.
- Review and resolve data queries raised during quality control reviews.
- Liaise with field staff (e.g., nurses, clinicians, facilitators) to clarify and verify source data discrepancies.
- Participate in data quality assurance activities, including team reviews and refresher trainings.
- Ensure all data entry activities comply with the protocol, SOPs, GCP, and ethical guidelines.
- Promptly report any issues affecting data quality or workflow to the Senior Data Analyst.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Health Records, Information Technology, Statistics, or a related field.
- At least 1 year of experience in research data entry or health records management (required).
- Up to date Good clinical practice (GCP) Certificate Hands-on experience with electronic data capture systems such as REDCap or ODK (mandatory).
- Familiarity with clinical research procedures, documentation, and terminology.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel) and EDC platforms.

- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, multidisciplinary setting.
- Commitment to following established protocols, SOPs, and regulatory requirements.
- Cultural sensitivity and ability to work respectfully with diverse teams and study populations.
Working Conditions
- Full-time position based in Kisumu County with frequent travel to facilities in different counties within the Western region (Kakamega, Homabay, Kisii, Siaya, Migori, Busia, Nyamira & Vihiga) May involve movement between healthcare facilities and field sites.
- Occasional extended hours may be required to meet data entry and reporting deadlines.
- Role involves prolonged periods of computer-based work.
- Strict adherence to GCP and institutional data protection guidelines is required when handling participant data.
