    About This Role

    This role places you in a practical learning environment where you directly support young learners in developing reading and comprehension skills. You will contribute to improving foundational literacy, which is critical in shaping a child’s academic journey.

    You will work with schools and communities to deliver structured literacy interventions. This role suits you if you are passionate about teaching, enjoy working with children, and want to make a real impact in Kenya’s education sector.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Deliver literacy-focused lessons to early-grade learners
    • Support implementation of foundational reading programs
    • Assess and monitor learners’ reading progress
    • Work closely with teachers and school leadership
    • Prepare and adapt teaching materials for different learners
    • Track program outcomes and submit progress reports
    • Participate in training and program improvement sessions

    Required Qualifications and Experience

    Essential:

    • Diploma or Degree in Education or a related teaching field
    • Proven experience in teaching or working with learners
    • Strong understanding of early literacy development
    • Ability to work effectively within Kenyan school environments

    Desirable:

    • Experience in literacy or NGO education programs
    • Familiarity with CBC curriculum delivery
    • Ability to communicate in local languages

    • Good communication and interpersonal abilities
    • Ability to assess and support different learning levels
    • Strong organization and reporting skills
    • Passion for improving literacy outcomes
