Role Overview
As a UNDP Remote Research Assistant, you will support high-level projects within UNDP’s various hubs such as the Sustainable Finance Hub or the Bureau for Policy and Programme Support. These positions bridge the gap between academic research and real-world policy implementation, providing direct exposure to global work on private sector engagement, SDG financing, and inclusive development.
Key Responsibilities
Data Collection & Analysis
- Clean and analyze quantitative and qualitative datasets using data-driven approaches to monitor Digital Strategy implementation
- Conduct desk research and literature reviews to support program development and policy briefs
Visualization & Reporting
- Develop dashboards, trackers, and data visualizations for monitoring and reporting purposes
- Provide research, writing, and editing support on issues like private sector skills development and inclusive markets
- Prepare regular reports, summaries, and briefing notes for internal and external stakeholders
Communications & Content
- Prepare social media materials, brochures, success stories, and blog content to promote initiatives related to the SDGs
- Assist in drafting newsletters, event summaries, and communications materials
Stakeholder Engagement & Event Support
- Support the organization of virtual conferences, workshops, and international consultations
- Coordinate with internal teams and external partners on program-related activities
Eligibility Requirements
- Education: Enrolled in a graduate school programme (Master’s or higher), in the final year of a first university degree (Bachelor’s), or graduated within the last 12 months
- Field of Study: Economics, Finance, Business Administration, International Relations, Public Administration, or a related development field
- Language: Excellent written and spoken English is required; knowledge of another UN language (French, Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, or Russian) is a significant asset
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in MS Office is mandatory; experience with data analysis tools or social media management platforms like Hootsuite and Canva is preferred
