Australian Development Investments (ADI) is a AUD 250 million impact investment fund managed by Sarona under a 13-year mandate from DFAT, Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. ADI mobilises private sector capital for SMEs across the Indo-Pacific, with a focus on driving both climate resilience and gender equality.
About AGILE
AGILE Program is a C$10million initiative led by WUSC and co-managed by Sarona in Vietnam, funded by Global Affairs Canada. It is designed to unlock private capital for climate enterprises, supporting innovative businesses that address climate resilience across the country.
Role Description
Scope of Work & Key Responsibilities
The intern’s time will be split across two workstreams.
Workstream A: ADI — Reporting & Investment Support
Database Management: Maintain and update internal databases, including investor records, deal pipelines, and activity logs, to keep information current and well-organised.
Meeting Documentation & Minutes: Prepare accurate and well-structured minutes for internal meetings, investment discussions, and key stakeholder calls.
Research & Market Analysis: Conduct market and sector research to support investment decision-making, including landscape mapping and peer benchmarking.
Investment Memos: Draft designated sections of investment memos or internal briefing notes under close supervision, building familiarity with investment documentation standards.
Workstream B: AGILE Program — Coordination & Operations Support
Event & Logistics Coordination: Drive engagement with investors, climate enterprises, and ecosystem partners by supporting high-impact events and interactions. Play a key role in delivering flagship AGILE convenings, ensuring a seamless experience for participants and contributing to meaningful connections across the climate finance ecosystem.
Database & Pipeline Management: Support the development and tracking of AGILE’s investment pipeline by maintaining structured, high-quality data on enterprises and investors. Contribute to generating insights on pipeline trends, investor interest, and ecosystem dynamics to inform program strategy.
Investment Process Support: Work alongside the Investment Team to review and assess climate enterprise opportunities, gaining hands-on exposure to early-stage screening, investment criteria, and decision-making processes within a blended finance program.
Market Research & Market Mapping: Contribute to targeted research and mapping of Vietnam’s climate innovation and investment landscape. Collaborate with partners to surface emerging opportunities, sector trends, and strategic insights that shape AGILE’s pipeline and positioning.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Last year students or recently graduated from a Bachelor/Master’s programme in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Prior internship experience in investment, consulting, or international development is an advantage.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong analytical and numerical skills; comfortable interpreting financial data and basic financial statements.
- High attention to detail with a commitment to producing accurate, well-structured work.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with Power BI or Salesforce is a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Vietnamese.
- Highly organised, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborative team player with a proactive and positive attitude.
