micro1 is hiring 15 remote Canva User/Specialists paying $20–$70 USD per hour to support AI training initiatives for a global technology client. If you’ve been using Canva hands-on for at least two years — for content creation, digital marketing, social media, or online education — this is a well-paid remote contractor role open to applicants worldwide.
No advanced graphic design background is required. Canva proficiency at a confident user level is exactly what this role calls for.
About This Role
As a Canva User/Specialist, you’ll join a client team working on AI training and data collection — using your practical Canva experience to create, edit, and manage design assets that help shape next-generation creative AI capabilities. You’ll document your design process, provide feedback on workflows, and collaborate with cross-functional remote teams on an ongoing basis.
This is a contractor role, fully remote, with no location restrictions.
Key Responsibilities
- Use Canva extensively to create, edit, and manage a variety of design assets for AI training purposes
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and deliver high-quality, brand-consistent outputs
- Document design processes and decisions clearly to support effective AI training and data annotation workflows
- Provide constructive feedback on Canva workflows and usability — your practical insights directly improve team effectiveness
- Maintain organised repositories of creative materials and ensure proper version control for all design files
- Communicate clearly and promptly via written and verbal channels with distributed stakeholders
- Participate in regular virtual meetings and contribute to team discussions on process improvement
Required Qualifications
Experience & Skills — all required:
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on Canva experience at a confident user level — this is not a role for advanced graphic designers or illustrators; it’s for people who use Canva regularly and know it well
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Ability to follow guidelines and instructions precisely while maintaining creativity within set parameters
- Familiarity with collaborative online tools and remote working best practices
- Strong organisational skills for managing digital assets efficiently
- Ability to adapt quickly to evolving project needs and feedback cycles
- Self-motivated, reliable, and comfortable working independently in a fully remote setting
Preferred Qualifications (added advantage):
- Experience contributing to AI training, data annotation, or related evaluation tasks
- Background in content creation, digital marketing, or online education using Canva
- Familiarity with basic design principles and visual communication best practices

Tips for a Strong Application
Be specific about how you use Canva. “I use Canva regularly” is weak. “I create social media templates, brand kits, and presentation decks for clients in Canva” is strong. Name the specific use cases where Canva is part of your regular workflow.
Show your documentation habit. This role explicitly requires clear documentation of design processes. If you already write briefs, maintain asset libraries, or use version control on your files — say so. It directly addresses a stated requirement.
Highlight AI or annotation experience if you have it. Experience with data annotation, AI training tasks, or content evaluation platforms puts you ahead of equally qualified Canva users who don’t have that background.
Demonstrate remote discipline. micro1 is looking for self-motivated, independently operating contractors. Mention your remote work setup, your approach to async communication, and any prior remote contractor experience.
