NaCl Remote is hiring a full-time, remote Finance and Bookkeeping Specialist based in Kenya to support U.S. business clients with day-to-day financial operations — from the comfort of your home office. This Finance Bookkeeping Specialist NaCl Remote Kenya 2026 opportunity is open now and suits a detail-oriented finance professional with solid bookkeeping experience, strong Excel skills, and hands-on exposure to tools like QuickBooks or Xero. If you are accurate, dependable, and ready to work with international clients, apply immediately through the link below.
About This Role
As a Finance and Bookkeeping Specialist at NaCl Remote, you will manage the financial recordkeeping of U.S.-based business clients — ensuring their books are current, accurate, and compliant with reporting expectations. Your work sits at the heart of each client’s financial health, and the quality of what you produce directly affects how confidently they can make business decisions.
This is not an entry-level data-entry role. You will handle real financial responsibilities — bank reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable, invoice preparation, payment tracking, and monthly reporting support. You need to be the kind of person who spots a discrepancy before anyone else does, and who treats client financial data with the same confidentiality and care they would expect from an in-house accountant.
The role is fully remote and full-time, aligned to U.S. business hours. You will communicate regularly with clients and the NaCl Remote team in professional written English, so clear and responsive communication is as important as your bookkeeping accuracy.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping and financial recordkeeping for multiple U.S. business clients, keeping all ledgers accurate and current.
- Record financial transactions promptly and maintain organised, up-to-date account books across client portfolios.
- Reconcile bank statements, accounts payable, and accounts receivable on a regular basis, flagging and resolving discrepancies without delay.
- Prepare invoices, track incoming and outgoing payments, and follow up professionally on outstanding balances.
- Assist with monthly financial reports and expense tracking to support client decision-making and financial planning.
- Maintain well-organised financial documentation and digital filing systems that make records easy to retrieve and audit-ready.
- Support payroll coordination, budgeting tasks, and basic financial analysis as required by individual clients.
- Handle all financial information with strict accuracy, confidentiality, and professionalism at every stage.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Finance, Accounting, Bookkeeping, or a closely related field.
- Proven, hands-on experience in bookkeeping, finance support, or accounting operations — not just theoretical knowledge.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and financial data formatting.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks, Xero, or a similar cloud-based bookkeeping or accounting platform.
- Solid understanding of financial reporting, bank reconciliations, and record management processes.
- Excellent attention to detail and a consistently high level of numerical accuracy.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills — you will correspond directly with U.S. clients.
- Ability to work independently, manage your own workload, and meet deadlines in a fully remote environment.
- Reliable internet connection and a quiet, professional home workspace.
Desirable:
- Prior experience supporting U.S.-based or other international clients in a finance or accounting capacity.
- CPA Part I or Part II (CPA-K pathway) or ACCA equivalent — not mandatory but a strong differentiator.
- Familiarity with U.S. accounting standards or exposure to GAAP-aligned reporting.
- Experience using project management or communication tools such as Slack, Asana, or Trello alongside financial systems.
Skills and Competencies
- Bookkeeping accuracy — a track record of producing clean, reconciled records that hold up under scrutiny.
- Financial software fluency — confident and efficient in QuickBooks, Xero, or equivalent platforms without hand-holding.
- Discretion with sensitive data — you understand that client financial information is confidential and act accordingly at all times.
- Remote work discipline — self-directed, reliable, and present during agreed working hours without requiring micromanagement.
- Professional English communication — clear, prompt, and appropriate in all written and verbal client interactions.
- Adaptability to international standards — comfortable adjusting your working approach to meet the expectations of U.S. business clients.
