About This Role
Christian Aid is seeking a skilled MEAL professional to support humanitarian, development, and advocacy programmes across its Multi-Country Cluster (MCC) region. Reporting to the MEAL Lead, you will help strengthen programme monitoring systems, support partner organisations, improve reporting quality, and ensure accountability standards are consistently maintained across projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the preparation of project proposals using strong planning, monitoring, and evaluation procedures.
- Develop and implement MEAL plans alongside programme staff and partner organisations.
- Provide technical support to partners on periodic reporting and programme data analysis.
- Maintain effective monitoring and evaluation systems that contribute to quality programming.
- Support the rollout and implementation of the COMPASS digital feedback system across programmes.
- Conduct data quality checks, validation processes, and evidence mapping for programme audits.
- Support annual Core Humanitarian Standard (CHS) audit processes and documentation.
- Develop and share best practices in accountability and community feedback approaches.
- Prepare donor outcome and impact reports to support programme funding and accountability.
- Collaborate with communications teams on storytelling and programme visibility initiatives.
Required Qualifications and Experience
Essential
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Social Studies, Statistics, Monitoring and Evaluation, Development Studies, or a related field.
- Significant experience within the humanitarian or development sector.
- Experience in programme design, monitoring, evaluation, data collection, analysis, and reporting.
- Strong understanding of programme cycle management approaches and participatory monitoring methods.
- Experience using digital data collection tools and data management systems such as SPSS and Microsoft Access.
- Strong quantitative and qualitative data analysis skills.
- Experience supervising field data collection teams and conducting surveys or qualitative interviews.
- Knowledge of accountability frameworks, safeguarding standards, and community feedback mechanisms.
- Understanding of Core Humanitarian Standard (CHS) requirements and impact assessment tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Desirable
- Experience supporting donor-funded regional programmes.
- Knowledge of decolonised methodologies in MEAL approaches.
- Experience supporting NGO partners with capacity building and technical accompaniment.
- Familiarity with digital feedback systems and accountability technology platforms.
