CIC Group Is Hiring a People & Culture Associate — HR Careers Open Now
If you have been looking for a way to break into Human Resources at a well-known Kenyan company — or you already have experience in recruitment and want to grow inside a large, established organisation — this is exactly the kind of opportunity that does not come around every week.
CIC Insurance Group, one of Kenya's most recognised insurance and financial services brands, is hiring a People & Culture Associate – Resourcing. This is an in-house HR role where you will work directly on talent acquisition, onboarding, stakeholder management, and HR data reporting — right at the heart of the company's people strategy.
The deadline is 9th April 2026 — just two days away. If this role matches your background, you need to move today. And here is the thing most applicants overlook — a role this close to an organisation's internal hiring engine requires a very specific kind of CV. Keep reading.
What Is CIC Insurance Group?
CIC Insurance Group is one of Kenya's most established insurance and investment companies, with operations in Kenya, Uganda, South Sudan, and Malawi. Founded in 1968 as a department of the Kenya National Federation of Cooperatives, CIC has grown into a leading cooperative enterprise and micro-insurer in Africa, listed on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE).
CIC serves over 1 million customers through 25 local branches across Kenya and runs three key subsidiaries: CIC General Insurance, CIC Life Assurance, and CIC Asset Management. Their tagline — "We Keep Our Word" — is backed by decades of consistent delivery and multiple industry awards.
Working at CIC is not just stable employment — it is a recognised credential in Kenya's financial services sector. A People & Culture role here puts you inside one of the most reputable HR functions in the industry.
What Does the People & Culture Associate – Resourcing Actually Do?
This is a full-cycle HR support role reporting to the Resourcing Manager. You will be involved at every stage of the hiring process — from posting jobs to welcoming new employees on their first day. Here is a clear breakdown of what the role covers:
End-to-End Recruitment
Handle job postings, interview coordination, background checks, candidate communication, and onboarding from start to finish.
Onboarding & Payroll Liaison
Collaborate with payroll and benefits teams to smoothly integrate new hires into the organisation and payroll system.
Stakeholder Management
Act as a key link between hiring managers, new employees, and the People & Culture team — keeping everyone informed throughout the process.
ATS & Reporting
Maintain and update the Applicant Tracking System (ATS), resourcing dashboards, and support data analysis and metrics tracking.
Records Management
Work with the HRIS team to ensure accurate employee records and documentation are maintained throughout the employee lifecycle.
Compliance & Policy Support
Ensure all resourcing activities comply with employment legislation, internal HR policies, and industry best practices.
What makes this role particularly valuable for your career is the breadth of exposure. You will touch almost every part of the HR lifecycle — not just sit in one corner of the department. That kind of experience accelerates your growth significantly.
Who Qualifies? The Full Requirements
- ✓ Degree in Business, Human Resources, or a related field
- ✓ Progress towards attaining the Certified HR Professional (CHRP) qualification
- ✓ Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in HR or recruitment
- ✓ High attention to detail and accuracy
- ✓ Strong planning, organising, and analytical problem-solving skills
- ✓ Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Here is what most applicants get wrong with HR roles specifically: they focus their CV entirely on tasks and duties — "I posted job adverts" and "I did screening calls." What CIC's People & Culture team actually wants to see is evidence of judgment, stakeholder communication, and process thinking. Show the impact, not just the activity.
How to Apply — Step by Step
Go to the CIC Careers Portal
Visit careers.cicinsurancegroup.com — this is the only official application channel. Do not apply through third-party sites if a direct portal submission is available.
Search for the Role
Look for "People & Culture Associate – Resourcing" in the job listings. Confirm the role is still live before preparing your documents.
Prepare Your CV and Cover Letter
Tailor both documents specifically to this role. Highlight your recruitment experience, any ATS tools you have used, stakeholder management examples, and your CHRP progress. Generic applications will not be shortlisted at a company of this calibre.
Submit Before 9th April 2026
The deadline is firm. With only days remaining, submit as soon as your documents are ready — not at the last minute. Early applications signal professionalism.
Only Shortlisted Candidates Will Be Contacted
CIC will reach out directly to candidates who meet the standard. Make sure your contact details are correct on your CV and that your email is active.
Is This Role Worth Applying For?
People & Culture roles inside large insurance and financial services companies are genuinely competitive positions. The reason is simple — HR experience at a regulated, listed company like CIC carries weight that smaller organisation experience often does not.
Think about it this way. An HR professional with experience at a company managing over one million customers across four countries has dealt with scale, compliance, multi-stakeholder environments, and structured HR systems. That profile commands significantly better opportunities — and significantly better pay — when they move to their next role.
This is a role for someone who takes their HR career seriously and wants to build it properly. With minimum 1 year of experience required, it is accessible to early-career HR professionals — but the environment will push you to grow fast.
The deadline is 9th April 2026. You have a very narrow window. Use it.
