Category: Graduate Recruitment | Audit & Assurance | Professional Services Location: Nairobi, Kenya | Deadline: 13th April 2026
Ernst & Young (EY) — one of the world’s leading professional services firms — is recruiting fresh graduates for its Assurance practice in Kenya. This is one of the most sought-after graduate programmes in the country, and if you are a 2025 or 2026 graduate with the right academic record and the right mindset, this is an opportunity you cannot afford to approach casually.
About EY and the Assurance Practice
EY is a global leader in assurance, tax, strategy, transactions, and consulting services. The firm operates in over 150 countries and is recognised for developing some of the sharpest financial and business minds on the continent.
The Assurance team sits at the core of EY’s service offering. It is where technical rigour meets business judgement — and where graduates are given real responsibility from day one.
The Role: What You Will Be Doing
As a Graduate in the Assurance team, you will make a direct technical contribution to audit engagements and internal projects. From the outset, you will be expected to build internal and external relationships, identify potential business opportunities on existing engagements, and escalate risks appropriately.
You will play an active role in ensuring that work delivered to clients meets EY’s high-quality standards, and that every piece of work is reviewed with the rigour the firm is known for. This is a role for graduates who are ready to be stretched — professionally and intellectually.
Who EY Is Looking For
EY is explicit that mindset matters as much as academic achievement. They are looking for three types of people:
Growth-oriented thinkers. Graduates who are innovative, adaptable, and capable of keeping pace with a rapidly evolving professional environment.
Curious and purpose-driven individuals. People who see opportunity where others see obstacles, and who ask sharper questions in pursuit of better answers.
Inclusive team players. Graduates who actively seek out diverse perspectives, value difference, and contribute to psychologically safe and trusting team environments.
Minimum Qualifications
- Fresh graduate from the 2025 or 2026 class
- Second Upper Class Honours or a GPA of 3.0 and above
- Minimum of Grade B at high school level, with at least a B in both English and Mathematics
- International equivalent qualifications are accepted
- Professional qualifications (CPA, ACCA, etc.) are an added advantage
Personal Attributes EY Values
- Self-motivation and a consistently positive attitude
- Integrity in all professional conduct
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- A genuine willingness to learn and grow
- A desire to exceed expectations rather than simply meet them
What EY Offers You
This is not just a job. EY’s graduate programme is a structured investment in your long-term career. As part of the programme, you will have access to:
- Future-focused technical training and transformative leadership development courses
- Exposure to highly integrated global teams and cross-cultural collaboration
- Continuous investment in your personal wellbeing and career progression
- The opportunity to develop your own professional purpose within a firm that prioritises building a better working world
Why Your Application Package Must Be Exceptional
EY receives hundreds of applications for a limited number of graduate positions. The academic threshold is clearly defined — but meeting it only gets you through the door. What separates the candidates who are shortlisted from those who are not is almost always the quality of the CV and cover letter.
Your cover letter is your first opportunity to demonstrate the mindset EY is looking for — curiosity, purpose, and inclusivity. It must go beyond restating your CV. It must show that you understand EY’s culture, that you can articulate your own purpose clearly, and that you are ready to contribute from day one.
Your CV must be clean, well-structured, and tailored to a professional services environment. Errors in formatting, inconsistencies in dates, or a generic personal statement will cost you a shortlisting that your grades earned you.
